Uv Squares

Uv Squares

UV Squares is an add-on for Blender’s UV Editor that reshapes UV selections into a grid. It is designed to simplify the process of aligning distorted UVs by respecting vertical and horizontal face ratios and stretching out any selection shape.

Key Features:

  • Reshape UV Faces to Grid: Transforms selected UV faces (quads) into a grid of equivalent squares or according to the shape of an active quad.
  • Align Vertices on Axis: Aligns sequenced vertices on either the X or Y axis, making them equally distanced.
  • Rip Faces: Allows for deselecting vertices from unselected faces, creating an effect similar to seams.
  • Join Vertices: Enables joining selected vertices to the closest unselected vertices.
  • Multiple Islands Conversion: Capable of converting multiple islands at once by selecting more than one separate UV chunk.
  • Vertex Selection and Snapping: Offers the ability to select a single vertex and snap the 2D cursor to it.
  • Simplification of UV Unwrapping: Aims to eliminate the need for manual alignment of distorted UVs, making the unwrapping process more efficient.
