VSE Draw is an add-on designed to emulate hand-drawn strokes and writing in Blender’s Video Sequence Editor (VSE).

Key Features:

  • Creation of Glyphs: Allows users to export curve objects as glyph files from a user panel in the 3D view.
  • Guide for Drawing: Includes a “Toggle Guide” operator to draw a box in the 3D view, showing how the curve will appear in a 1920×1080 video.
  • Importing Glyphs: The user interface for importing glyphs is located on the right side of the sequencer, under the tools tab.
  • Color Customization: Offers buttons for quickly changing the color of drawn strokes, a color picker for selecting any color, and the ability to save selected colors as quick color buttons.
  • Adjustable Stroke Properties: Users can change the scale, speed, and thickness of imported strokes.
  • Decorator Options: Provides options for creating a decorator around the text, including ellipse, underline, box, and circle.
  • Import Strokes Function: Each stroke becomes its own strip in the VSE when using the import strokes function.
  • Writing and Tracing: Features a text box for typing and writing, and a tracing function for adding keyframes to follow along the strokes as they are drawn.
