Pixel-Unwrapper is a Blender add-on designed to aid in creating Pixel Art 3D or lo-fi 3D.
Key Features:
Pixels Per Unit: Allows setting a desired Pixel Density to maintain consistent pixel size across the model. This density is used by the Unwrapping operators and the Rescale Selection operator to determine UV scale.
Create Texture: If the model doesn’t have a material with a texture, this button creates them and sets the Texture Interpolation to Closest.
Unwrapping Tools:
Unwrap Basic: Performs standard Blender Unwrap operation but scales the result to match Pixel Density.
Unwrap Grid: Detects a grid of quads in the selection and maps each row and column to whole pixels, applying Pixel Density.
Unwrap Extend: Unwraps unpinned faces, similar to standard Blender Unwrap.
Unwrap to Single Pixel: Maps selected faces to a single pixel on the texture.
UV Editing: Some UV operators can be applied while preserving bits of texture already painted. Includes Destructive mode and Preserve Texture mode.
Folding Tools:
Rescale Selection: Rescales the selection to match Pixel Density.
Selection to Free Space: Moves the selection to a free bit of UV space, copying texture pixels to the new location in Preserve Texture mode.
Randomize Islands: Moves each island to a random position on the UV map.
Repack All: Repacks all islands onto the bottom of the UV map.
