Parallel Render

Parallel Render

Parallel Render is a small script aimed to assist with Video Sequence Editor (VSE) renders in Blender. Given that Blender does not inherently support multithreaded sequencer renders, this add-on proves beneficial for multicore system users who wish to optimize the rendering process of their videos.

Key Features:

  • Parallel Rendering: Splits the VSE sequence into segments that can be rendered simultaneously, leveraging multiple cores for enhanced rendering speed.
  • Multiple Blender Instances: Initiates multiple instances of Blender, each rendering a separate part of the sequence, to ensure efficient utilization of all available cores.
  • Customizable Settings: Allows users to easily specify the number of parallel Blender instances and determine the segmentation of the sequence for tailored rendering processes.
  • Enhanced Crash Recovery: Ensures the retention of all rendered chunks in the event of a crash, allowing for the continuation of rendering only for the missing parts by unchecking “Overwrite existing files”.
  • Dynamic Allocation: Facilitates the dynamic allocation of new sections to idling Blender instances, ensuring efficient utilization even in the case of CPU-intensive video sections.
