Mouse Strafing

Mouse Strafing

Mouse Strafing enables users to strafe in Blender’s 3D View using the mouse while holding down a key.

Key features:

  • Mouse Strafing Navigation: Allows users to enter mouse strafing navigation by pressing and holding a key, such as the spacebar, in the 3D View. A crosshair appears, and users can click and hold mouse buttons for different movement options.
  • Relocate Pivot: Users can toggle automatic pivot relocation on or off. When enabled, it automatically relocates the view pivot each time mouse strafing navigation is exited.
  • Speed Adjustment: Provides speed control with options like holding Shift for 500% speed, Alt for 20% speed, and Alt + Ctrl for 10% pan/roll speed.
  • Field of View Change: Enables changing the field of view using Ctrl + mouse wheel, with customizable settings in the addon preferences.
  • Save States: Allows users to save and load view states using number keys for quick access to specific viewpoints.
  • Lock Camera to View: Compatible with Blender’s lock camera to view option, allowing users to move the render camera using mouse strafing navigation.
  • Reset Roll: Includes a feature to reset the camera roll with the press of a key.
  • WASD Navigation: Similar to the Fly Operator, it supports movement and strafing with the keyboard using WASD, Q, and E keys.
