Kaboom is a Blender add-on designed to simplify the creation of spectacular destruction animations. It offers a range of tools to fracture objects, simulate dynamics, and add visual effects like particles and smoke.
Key features:
Fracture Objects:
Fracture Modes: Choose from ‘Own particles’, ‘Child Particles’, ‘Own Vertices’, ‘Child Vertices’, or ‘Grease Pencil annotation’ to fracture selected objects.
Adjustable Shard Properties: Control the scale proportions and number of shards.
Fracture Results: View and manage fractured groups in the Fractured Group List.
Fractured Groups List:
Group Management: Edit group names, select group objects, delete groups, and restore source objects.
Flags: Indicators show if a group is baked, has debris particles, or includes smoke particles and fluid modifiers.
Rough Cut: Create roughed cuts to shard interiors, with options to bake or convert to mesh.
Simulation:
BLAST Simulation: Add a blaster tool to the scene to simulate explosions with options for radial force, directional force, and spin. Adjust core radius and dynamic range.
KRUMBLE Simulation: Add dynamic activation keyframes to the active group shards at the current frame.
Rigid Bodies:
Rigid Body Editing: Add breakable or fixed constraints, update strength values, remove constraints, update mass, and set objects to passive dynamic rigid bodies.
Baking Simulation to Keyframes:
Bake Simulations: Bake all fractured groups to keyframes, enabling further editing or the addition of particles.
Particles and Smoke:
Particle Systems: Add debris particles using a “Parts Collection” for instances. Adjust emission parameters, copy settings, and manage particle visibility.
Smoke Emission: Add smoke effects to fractured groups, with options for emission intensity and animated turbulence fields.
Fluid Parameters: Apply fluid settings to all objects within a fractured group.
