Blender QLE

Blender QLE (Quick Lighting Environment) streamlines the process of setting up a quick lighting environment in Blender. The add-on installs a panel named “Quick Lighting Environment” under Properties > Scene, offering a one-click solution to add a pre-configured world and lighting setup. It also allows users to easily clear the environment, reverting to the original settings.

Key Features:

  • Quick Environment Setup: Adds a world named “QLE World” with a surface strength set to 0.25 and a Blackbody value of 5454.
  • Configured Area Lights: Creates four positioned Area Lights with specific Blackbody values: 3800 for “Area_Left” (orange tint), 5454 for “Area_Fill” and “Area_Back” (equal energy), and 20,000 for “Area_Right” (blue tint).
  • Lights Targeting: Introduces an Empty named “Lights_Target” and connects all lights to it using Track To Object Constraints.
  • Backdrop Addition: Adds a Mesh Object named “Backdrop” to the scene.
  • Environment Re-insertion: If any light, the Backdrop, or the Empty is disconnected or deleted, clicking “Add Environment” re-inserts the missing elements.
  • Clear Environment Option: Purges QLE Lights, Backdrop, and Empty from the scene and resets the world from “QLE World” back to the original.
