B.slicer

B.slicer is a Blender add-on for slicing 3D objects into sections and preparing the resulting geometry for fabrication workflows. It combines slicing, flattening, registration dowels, mesh analysis, and SVG export in a single workflow, with controls for slice placement, thickness, spacing, and axis. The resulting slices can be arranged for processes such as laser cutting and CNC fabrication.

Key features:

  • Object Slicing: Slices objects along a selected axis with adjustable thickness and spacing.
  • Bisect Engine: Uses a Bisect-based slicing system for processing geometry, including dense meshes.
  • Slicing Modes: Provides Extremity, Middle→Slice, and Middle→Spacing modes for controlling the placement of slices.
  • Flattening: Lays generated slices flat to prepare them for fabrication and 2D layouts.
  • Packed Flatten: Arranges flattened slices into a more compact layout to reduce the required space.
  • Registration Dowels: Adds dowels between slices using an interactive 2D/3D placement tool to assist with alignment during assembly.
  • Manifold Check: Analyzes mesh health before slicing and highlights detected problems directly in the viewport.
  • SVG Export: Exports prepared slices directly to SVG without requiring camera setup.
  • Organized SVG Layers: Structures exported SVG content into layers for further 2D processing.
  • Boolean Fallback: Provides an optional legacy Boolean slicing method through the advanced settings.
