Asher’s Toolbox

Asher’s Toolbox

Asher’s Toolbox (ATB) is an add-on that reorganizes and enhances existing Blender features to accelerate common tasks. It’s designed to improve efficiency without enforcing a specific workflow or overburdening the user’s keymap.

Key features:

  • Main Interfaces: ATB primarily consists of interfaces that users interact with, including panels and keymaps.
  • Overlays Panel in Sidebar: A remix of the shading and overlay popovers in the viewport header, with additional object display and theme settings. It’s optimized for narrow column widths, ideal for quickly toggling overlays.
  • Fast Panel in Keymap: Acts as a compact hub for object display settings, useful for managing Boolean cutters, geometry data overlays, and x-ray shading. It includes tabs for future features.
  • Meta Panel in Viewport Header: Offers a balance between the overlays panel and the fast panel. It provides access to transform settings, a camera manager, viewport shading, and active object properties. The camera manager and active object panel are feature-rich, with options for camera settings and keying, and properties for meshes, curves, lights, probes, etc.
  • Viewport Gizmos: Adds various gizmos with associated pie menus and operators. These range from straightforward tools like the symmetry gizmo for mesh symmetrization to more complex ones like the tablet gizmo.
